Welcome to Apotheca. Apotheca is a shared space that houses a network of independent practitioners in a small suite of a unique vintage highrise in downtown San Francisco. We each run our own unaffiliated practice, and the common thread between us is our commitment to helping our clients achieve wellness and balance with our work.

Our space is not a spa but is rather a friendly, unpretentious and no-stress environment where our clients can feel comfortable and be themselves. We are small and we are slow, and that is just the way we like it. Please read here to find out if we are the right practice for you. After you have learned a bit about how we work, please read on below to find out about the therapists renting space at Apotheca and to learn about our individual practices. When you decide whose work would make the best fit with you, use the contact information provided to make your appointment directly with your massage or skincare therapist.

Eri Cela, Certified Massage Therapist

My clients have called me a massage geek, a brainy therapist, unorthodox in my approach, a true muscle worker and many other gratifying embarrassing complements. The human body captivates me, and yes, I suppose for the most part, my excitement about bodywork is channeled in geeky and brainy forms. I have been a certified massage therapist for 7 years, with over one thousand hours of training in Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Swedish Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Reiki, Cranial Sacral Therapy and other modalities. I incorporate breath work, movement and stretching with traditional massage techniques and yet my favorite and most effective tool is a mindful touch. I take pride on my trainings, preparation and techniques but my most defined skill is matching all of them with the client’s body history. I like to know not only what is going on with a person’s body but also her/his relationship to the body and how is the body used in everyday life.

In December 2009, I graduated with a Masters in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Somatics, a body oriented psychotherapy. I am currently a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern.

Eri is at Apotheca Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3pm to 9pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 3pm

Alicia Claire Herlehy, Licensed Esthetician

I am an Esthetician and have been licensed and working since 2005. I became interested in skincare while working as a make-up artist. I was touching skin on a daily basis, and it just got to a point where I wanted to know more about skin health in general. I went to esthetics school here in San Francisco and upon my first day it all clicked into place for me...this was what I was supposed to be doing. I just adore helping to make people look and feel their best. My approach to skincare is holistic. I believe that if you look good you feel good and vice versa. I equally enjoy performing waxing and facials. Working as a Esthetician is truly my passion and I feel so lucky to have figured that out. I also adore dancing, world travel, delicious food and maintaining a positive lifestyle.

Alicia Claire is at Apotheca Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 8:30pm and Fridays from 9:30am to 2:30pm

Courtney Mueller, Certified Massage Therapist

: I first became interested in massage while working in a rehabilitation unit at a hospital in Minnesota. While I was planning on going to graduate school for physical therapy, I realized I wanted to work in a field that was less insurance-driven and focused more on personal relationships and healing. So I picked up and moved out to San Francisco for training and sunshine. At the San Francisco School of Massage I completed both the basic Swedish as well as the Advanced Training programs. I am currently enrolled in the massage therapy program through the Institute for Health and Healing at California Pacific Medical Center. I am licensed in San Francisco and I am a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals group. My massage style is a blend of Swedish and Deep Tissue incorporating acupressure and cranial sacral techniques. No two massages are ever the same, I listen to each person's needs and wants and modify each session accordingly.

Courtney is at Apotheca Wednesdays from 9am to 2:30pm and Saturdays from 3pm to 9pm

I hold a license in esthetics and certifications in massage, Reiki, and Reposturing Dynamics sports massage. I have formal training in botanical medicine, foot reflexology and Polarity therapy. I have also taken extensive formal coursework in aromatherapy and nutrition and I have studied Ayurvedic theory, flower essence therapy and cosmetic chemistry. I draw from this eclectic art- and skill set and combine it with ever further education: one of my great joys is marrying the latest research with traditional methods to customize treatments and formulations for my clients.
